I enjoyed learning about different databases. As I pursue further education, this will be a big tool for finding relevant sources that I know can be trusted (Fall 2024 21387).
The course was appropriate for learning how to use library tools for the first time user (Fall 2024 21387).
Course design was user friendly, however Black Board did have issues. Wasn't just this class, but other classes as well. Test, quizzes not be accessible (Fall 2024 21387).
I love the way this course is structured (Fall 2024 21253).
I loved the course design! It was very clear and easy to navigate (Fall 2024 21253).
It was very helpful, easy to navigate and directed by a great teacher who wanted to help. It could get confusing at times but it was important to have a good person to contact to help when needed and that was the important part of it (Fall 2024 21253).
I enjoyed that you allow students to improve grades on discussion if they respond to your feedback with what you are asking for (Spring 2025 21289).
Loved how easy it was to find everything and how it was all explained thoroughly (Spring 2025 21289).
We were given so many resources & tips to help along in this course (Spring 2025 21170).
I have no comments besides that this was a great course and the design was easy to understand. Very helpful class (Spring 2025 21170)!
Weekly assignments, objective, & quizzes were all laid out in a manner that was easy to navigate. Plenty of resources to help with all course work (Spring 2025 21170).
I enjoyed being able to see what others were interested in learning about, and the discussion boards also helped me outline assignments. I also looked at feedback you gave others to ensure I was doing the assignment correctly (Fall 2024 21387).
The instructor was quick to communicate and discussion boards were helpful (Fall 2024 21387).
I didn't feel there was a lot of interaction with other class mates. However when I did email the instructor she was pretty good about responding in a timely manner (Fall 2024 21387).
I LOVED how engaged the professor was with us. She was always replying to DB posts which was so helpful (Fall 2024 21253).
She was so helpful and wanting us to succeed in this course. I seen lots of my students work and it helped me better mine was well. Met a few of my fellow online mates through the online discussion boards. great (Fall 2024 21253)!
The discussion boards helped with interacting with other students as well as getting feedback from the instructor. Well laid out (Spring 2025 21170).
I really appreciated all the feedback that was provided on the turned in assignments (Spring 2025 21170).
We were provided with lots of feedback to help us succeed. Email response time & feedback response time was also quick! Very helpful (Spring 2025 21170).
The learning objectives were very clear and had detailed instructions (Fall 2024 21387).
I think this is a great class and should be a mandated class for incoming freshman to assist them with learning how to use the WSU library in person and online. (Fall 2024 21387).
I wish I had been made aware of this course sooner. Taking this course earlier would've prepared me for big research projects from other upper-level courses. I would say this is essential for first-generation college students (Spring 2025 21170).
Coursework was pretty good and easy to follow along (Spring 2025 21289).
I think this course is laid out in a manner that fits being a 1 credit hour online class. The coursework was not overwhelming. We were given everything we needed to succeed in this class. This class is definitely super helpful in terms of learning how to better find sources for research. (Spring 2025 21170).
I enjoyed taking this course! Once again, I just wish I had taken it earlier in my school years rather than in my last semester before graduating. It would have made my college life so much easier (Spring 2025 21170).
I believe this course really prepared me to find relevant information for my future projects (Spring 2025 21170).
This course worked well for my schedule because each assignment is thorough enough so you can learn, but I can do it in a timely manner (Fall 2024 21387). [Instructor comment: This student indicated they spent an average of 60-90 minutes a week on coursework.]
I felt like I needed to dedicate myself more to the course (Fall 2024 21387). [Instructor comment: This student indicated they spent an average of 30-60 minutes a week on coursework.]
Not too much but just enough to help me learn something new and useful (Fall 2024 21253). [Instructor comment: This student indicated they spent an average of 1.5-2 hours a week on coursework.]
For a one-credit hour course, it tended to be more than my three-credit hour courses. Not difficult work, but took more time than expected (Spring 2025 21289). [Instructor comment: This student indicated they spent an average of 1.5-2 hours a week on coursework.]
Angela gave great feedback to each student to help throughout this class (Fall 2024 21387).
She was amazing ! She communicated with us and gave the best feedback. She emphasized on the importance of her being here for us and helping us navigate through the course. She’s an Instructor everyone needs (Fall 2024 21253)!
It was great. Always got reminders on due dates and being very helpful (Spring 2025 21289).
I enjoyed this class. All instructions were clear, and I have gained knowledge on a very helpful academic tool (Fall 2024 21387).
I liked this course and have no suggestions for change (Fall 2024 21387)!
Like I said before, the way this course is structured is really good. I feel like I was able to learn a lot because of this and I also liked the way the teacher was involved and all the feedback she gave (Fall 2024 21253).
I really enjoyed this course and have my notes written down and a tab on my laptop with the resources to use in grad school. Thank you for this course, it was worth every minute (Fall 2024 21253).
Simple survey, asked all the good questions (Spring 2025 21289).
Only suggestion I would make is to arrange content folders based on the due dates. This just helps me as a student be a bit more organized (Spring 2025 21170). [Instructor comment: There are 5 lessons in this 8-week class, so there is a little overlap with weeks and due dates. Assignments are organized by due date within the lessons and lessons should be completed in order.]
When the professor provided feedback on the discussion boards, it was often unclear what she was asking for. Her approach also came across as unprofessional. For example, I posted a discussion about how a particular source can be useful when seeking someone’s opinion or understanding their perspective, but it’s not a reliable choice when searching for factual information due to bias. The professor asked me for another reason, so I responded by pointing out that the source can also be untrustworthy. She replied to me and a few other students with, "I'm sorry, but unreliable and biased sources are okay to use in some situations." However, another student made a similar point in their own words about a different source, and the professor said they did a great job. This inconsistency made the feedback very confusing and frustrating. This made me disengage from the class. (Spring 2025 21289) [Instructor comment: This is the only negative comment included in the course evaluations, so I thought I should include it. Not everyone had the same experience.]
