Services and Technology

In addition to the services listed below, researchers may call the Circulation Desk at (316) 978-3582 or use the their online Wichita State University Libraries Catalog account to request books and other library materials. Items will be held for pick up at either Ablah, MALIC or Chemistry Library.

Ask a Librarian
LOTS of contact options! Contact the Reference Desk in person, using the chat widget, emailing or calling. WSU librarians are assigned to specific University departments and classes. Contact individual librarians by email, phone, or in person.
Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
ILL can borrow books, articles, and other materials located at other libraries. myWSU ID is required.
Research Help
Locate several methods of research assistance, including tutorials, guides, and links to library databases.
SmartSearch
SmartSearch is a search interface with access to many library databases.

University Libraries has resources to help you prepare and practice presentations. In addition to the spaces in Ablah Library listed below, a pocket projector, document camera, portable projector, microphones, still and video cameras, tripods, iPads, laptops, and other equipment may be checked out from the Circulation Desk. Presentation Practice

Several types of collaborative tables and study rooms are available in Ablah Library. Reserve group study rooms and private focus rooms through the calendar.

One Button Studio

A simplified video recording studio where WSU students, faculty and staff can record high quality videos without any hassle of setting up the lights and camera. Bring a flash drive to keep the file. Schedule through the One-Button Studio Calendar.

Media Design Zone

The Media Design Zone is dedicated for media editing, recording, creative writing, website development and publishing. There are two Mac based workstations and one Windows 10 based workstation along with a sound booth.

Sound Booth

Schedule through the Sound Booth Calendar. Equipment includes a Mac based workstation, Yamaha keyboard and digital drums, a mic for audio recording, headphones, a speaker and a Xenyx UFX1204 sound mixer.

Digital Creation Space
The Creation Space (C-Space) includes specialized work zones for media design, advanced development/prototype development, and virtual reality (VR). A list of production software installed on select computers is also listed here. Also, learn more about the C-D printers, the One-Button Studio, Sound Booth, and workshops offered by the C-Space staff.
Technology for Checkout from Ablah Library
iPads, laptops, 3-D pen, drawing tablet, GoPro camera, camcorders, and more may be borrowed for free from the Circulation Desk in Ablah Library
Technology for Use in Ablah Library
Ablah Library has computer printers, photocopiers, book scanners, flatbed scanners, Windows and Mac computers and other equipment
Chemistry Library
The Chemistry Library in 127 McKinley Hall has Windows computers, computer printer and a photocopier available
Music Library
The Music Library in 313 Jardine Hall has audio and video stations, Windows and Mac computers, and other equipment available
