Theses and dissertations in an academic context are publications written by graduate and post-graduate students to complete a degree. They tend to be underutilized as information sources.

Student researchers will find them useful for the literature reviews, original research project or study, and the extended analysis of a topic found in most of these publications.

WSU Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETDs)
WSU ETDs from December 2005 are available online, free-of-charge. Find them in SOAR, WSU institutional repository, or in Google, especially if you know name of a student or professor (e.g. thesis Wichita State [professor's name]). New ETDs are added three times a year. Some ETDs become available after one or two years of embargo. See the WSU Policies and Procedures 8.12 for more information on thesis and dissertation embargo.
