Graphic novel creators talk "Walk With Wu" at library-hosted panel

More than 20 attendees heard from the creators of a new history-based graphic novel during the Libraries' April 22 panel. The presenters were Jessica Cerri, Curator and Archivist, Special Collections and University Archives at Wichita State University; Darren DeFrain, Director of Writing Program, Dept. of English at Wichita State; and Jay Price, Chair, Dept. of History at Wichita State. Genna Pennington, "A Walk With Wu" artist, was unable to attend the virtual panel, but received high praise for her work from the other presenters.

"Genna did such a good job with the visual representations of various people, contemporary people in historical roles throughout, and other little fun things," DeFrain said during the panel.

The presentation was recorded and uploaded to the Libraries' YouTube page, and can be viewed above. "A Walk With Wu" is available for checkout, and can be found by searching the Libraries' online catalog at libcat.wichita.edu.
