Digital resource specialist assists with library's growing electronic collections
The newest member of the University Libraries team is a familiar face.
Wichita State grad Rachel Mapel joined the library staff in January as the digital resources specialist aiding with growing electronic and digital resource collections.
Mapel brings experience as a data analyst and execution buyer at Spirit Aerosystems after previously working as the Libraries' senior administrative assistant in the Dean's Office from 2013-2019. She graduated from Wichita State in 2013 with a Bachelor's in Psychology. She was a student worker in the library during her undergrad.
The Libraries' digital resource specialist will be key in managing important electronic resources used by library patrons. Responsibilities include data importing/loading, troubleshooting, collection statistics gathering and assessment, and maintaining records related to library vendor activities.
