The International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) is a not-for-profit scientific union, founded in 1948. In addition to publication of primary research articles in structural science, it aims to promote international cooperation and to contribute to the advancement of all aspects of crystallography. The IUCr electronic journals service, Crystallography Journals Online, publishes seven primary research journals in crystallography, and an eighth covering the technology, instrumentation and uses of synchrotron radiation. The journals have taken a leading role in the publication of data sets in structural science.
