Issues Accessing Google Scholar

It is possible to access Google Scholar through the Library website by selecting it from the dropdown list of databases. When accessing Google Scholar this way, you may sometimes run into the following error: "ERROR for site owner: Invalid domain for site key." This can happen sometimes when people are accessing Google Scholar through the Library’s proxy server. When working properly, the proxy server recognizes you are coming from Wichita State and shows you links to full text articles provided by the Wichita State University Libraries.

To work around this problem, you can set up Google Scholar's "Library Links" to access Wichita State University Library resources by following these steps:

  1. Go directly to Google Scholar: https://scholar.google.com/
  2. Make sure you're logged into your Google Account.
  3. From the menu icon  in the top left (three horizontal lines), select "Settings" (then) "Library Links."
  4. In the Library Links page, search for "Wichita State," and select "Wichita State University - Find Full Text @ WSU” and “Wichita State University Proquest Full Text.”
  5. Remember to save your changes before returning to Google Scholar.
