Physical items placed on Course Reserve may include books, periodicals, microforms, sound recordings, or movies. These items are available at one of our three locations for checkout with your Shockercard: Ablah, Chemistry or MALIC Libraries. Contact the Library for location of items.
Electronic Reserve items are linked directly from our online catalog at libcat.wichita.edu. Electronic Reserve items are linked in the corresponding Blackboard course inside an eReserves folder.
Reserve Collections are materials which have a shortened loan period in order to facilitate greater use. Reserve collections include current periodicals, newspapers, the Leisure Reading and new book collections, microfilm, microfiche, VHS, DVDs, CD-Roms, Audio CDs and Cassette, Textbooks, Course Reserves and assorted equipment.
Textbooks may be checked out to currently enrolled WSU students for two hours. Textbooks are designated as library-use only; they may not be taken out of the building. If a textbook is checked out, a hold may be placed at the Reserve Desk. Additional information on Textbook loans can be found here.
Course Reserve contains materials in high demand that are generally supplemental or recommended reading/viewing in addition to or replacing a textbook. These materials are placed in Reserve on a temporary basis by instructors for courses being taught that semester and loan periods range from 2-hour in-library use to a 4 week loan depending on instructor request. Course Reserve materials can be found at all three library locations. At Ablah Library course reserves are located on the first floor of behind the circulation desk. At McKinley Chemistry library and MALIC in Jardine 313, reserve materials are located behind the circulation desks as well. Search the Library Catalog for Course Reserve material here.
