Google Scholar Button

  The Google Scholar Button is a browser plug-in for Google Scholar look-ups.  This plug-in is an additional way to access full text content via the Wichita State University Libraries collection.  It enables a user to search for content by highlighting text on any webpage and pressing the Scholar look-up button.  The plug-in is available for Firefox, Chrome and Safari browsers. 

How the Scholar Button Works

  1. Highlight a citation, article title, or author anywhere on any webpage.
  2. Click the Scholar Button in the browser
  3. Select the 360 Link button to check for full text of the article in the library's collection

 

Note:  If the 360 Link button is not displaying within Google Scholar, enable it by navigating to the "Library Links" feature found under Google Scholar settings. 

        

Installing Scholar Button

The plug-in works in the Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers.  To install the Scholar Button on your browser, you will need to do the following:

  1. Navigate to https://scholar.google.com/ OR use the link on the AtoZ list 
  2. Click on "Settings" (gear symbol) near the top of the screen.  Google Settings Button
  3. Click on "Button" found on the left side of the screen.
  4. Underneath the screenshot, click on the text "Install Scholar Button to look up papers as you browse."
  5. Depending on your browser, you will be taken to the site for downloading and installing browser plugins.
  6. Follow the steps to complete installation of the plugin.

Note:  If you use multiple browsers, you will need to install the button separately on each browser, if desired.
