Persistent URLs or Permalinks are Internet addresses to online resources such as videos that can be added to Blackboard, web pages, course web sites, syllabi and readings lists.
Using an embed code will generate Java-based code that can be used to add a full-featured Flash-based player directly into Blackboard. Clicking on the embedded video window activates the video player and displays it within Blackboard.
Adding a URL link to a licensed video in Blackboard so that students and faculty can access the video from off-campus requires the Blackboard EZ Proxy URL be added to the video's persistent URL. This combined URL will allow the student to be recognized as an authorized user and prevent the student from having to login twice to access the video. For all videos in Academic Video Online and other Alexander Street videos, you will need to add the Blackboard proxy URL to the persistent URL before posting to Blackboard.
To find a persistent URL/permalink:

There are two options for making a link to a YouTube video in Blackboard using a persistent URL/permalink. The first option is using the persistent link to create a Web Link in Blackboard. The second is to use the "Select YouTube Video" Mashup in Blackboard to search for and select a video for linking in Blackboard and The two options are described below:
OPTION 1: Use the Persistent URL to Create Web Link in Blackboard.
The Blackboard proxy URL is not required to access freely available videos from off-campus, so you will not need to add it to the YouTube persistent URL before posting to Blackboard.
