Top 10 Things International Students Need to Know About WSUL

  1. It's easy to get help! WSUL is an essential service to all WSU students, faculty and staff. Use our Ask-a-Librarian service for in-person or online assistance with creating a great research topic, locating relevant and appropriate sources, and using library databases. Or get help from your own personal librarian
  2. Not sure what words to use to describe what you need in the library? This glossary might help.
  3. Want to learn conversational English? Read a book from our popular book collection or watch a streaming movie or a movie on blu-ray or DVD!
  4. American university libraries are not very quiet! However, Ablah Library has an entire floor with strict rules about noise. Study on the 3rd floor of Ablah Library for peace and quiet.
  5. Would you rather study alone? Study in an individual study room! Rooms may be reserved up to one week in advance.
  6. Working in a study group or on a group assignment? We have group study rooms! Rooms have space for 3 to 8 people.
  7. Do you love technology and gadgets? You will love the tech we have in the Tech Hub! The Tech Hub includes 3D printers and a 3D scanner, V-R Zone, a sound booth and many other fun things for techies. The Advanced Development Zone in the Tech Hub has lots of specialized software.
  8. We also have equipment that can be borrowed for overnight or a few days, depending on the equipment. There are also other fun things to borrow, such as hammocks and 3D pens!
  9. Are you a night owl? If you want to study after the library closes (usually 10PM) or before it opens at 7:30AM, The E.K and Kathlien Edmiston 24-Hour Study Room will be your perfect study space! See all library hours
  10. Looking for things to do? Ablah Library hosts a few events each semester, like the Halloween Comicfest and Procrastination Prevention Night. There are also workshops for those of you who want more educational activities.
