Browse by Call Number

• You can browse through the top levels of the Library of Congress Classification System as presented in Wikipedia.
  • Kansas History books start with the call number F676 on the third floor.
  • History books are usually, but not always, in C, D, E and F. Find the subcategory you want to explore--for example, DQ--then look for call numbers starting with DQ in the library stacks (shelves).

  • Find out what floor your book is on (library floor map).
• Another strategy: once you've found a book on your topic in the library catalog (click for example), look on the shelves nearby.

Books at Other Libraries

• Enter keyword(s) and click search.
• When you find a book you want, look for the blue button called Request Item Through Interlibrary Loan.
• This will take you to the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) page where you can log in with your WSU ID.
  • You will only need to fill out your contact information the first time.
  • The next form should be filled out for you with the book's info.
  • Submit your request and you will get an email when the book is ready to be picked up at the library.
