Verifying Articles are from Scholarly Journals

If you are wondering about a specific journal, use the Ulrichsweb.com  database to confirm that a journal is refereed (scholarly) by looking up a journal and checking for the Refereed icon   (refereed icon).

Click on the last tab to the left --"Magazine or Journal: How Do You Tell?", for information on the differences between popular magazines and scholarly journals. If you still have questions about a journal, contact the instructor or librarian for this class
