Altmetrics for Researchers

Use the tabs below to learn more about Altmetrics and how to use them to help document the impact of your research

Welcome!

This guide includes information about the many options you have for tracking new kinds of metrics to demonstrate the impact of all of your work -- articles, data sets, conference presentations, and more. Since there are so many options, here are the ones we think are the "best" for getting started with Altmetrics.

1. Get an ORCID!

It's important to distinguish your work from that of others with similar names. Signing up for an ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID) will help ensure that you get credit for all of your work. It's free!
