Preparing and Presenting Your Research

University Libraries has resources to help you prepare, practice and record presentations. In addition to the spaces in Ablah Library listed below, a pocket projector, document camera, portable projector, microphones, still and video cameras, tripods, iPads, laptops, and other equipment may be checked out from the Circulation Desk. This interdisciplinary space has several high-end computers with software for Geographic Information Systems, statistical analysis, data visualization, multi-media editing, and other applications. There is also a large state-of-the-art touchscreen monitor for teaching and learning, reservable study rooms, and other study space.

A simplified video recording studio where students, faculty and staff can record high quality videos without any hassle of setting up the lights and camera. Bring a flash drive to keep the file. Carefully calibrated preset lighting and camera equipment in the One Button studio complete the self-serve video production. Library Systems staff are available for training and assistance. Create a reservation with the online scheduling system and check in at the C-Space Help Desk when you arrive.

Lightboard Studio allows the presenter to write on a clear board while facing the camera. This presentation method allows interaction with the audience while creating hand-drawn diagrams and notes that are legible to the audience. Carefully calibrated preset lighting and camera equipment in the Lightboard studio complete the self-serve video production. Library Systems staff are available for training and assistance. The Media Design Zone is dedicated for media editing, recording, creative writing, website development and publishing. There are two Mac based workstations and one Windows 10 based workstation along with a sound booth.

Schedule through the Online Scheduling System. Equipment includes a Mac based workstation, Yamaha keyboard and digital drums, a mic for audio recording, headphones, a speaker and a Xenyx UFX1204 sound mixer. Check in at the C-Space Help Desk when you arrive.

Presentation Practice

Several types of collaborative tables and study rooms are available in Ablah Library. Reserve study rooms and private focus rooms through the calendar. Check the calendar for maximum capacity allowed in each room.
