Exploring Our National Parks - Further Research

Much of the information on the formation and designation of federal lands as "National Parks" (or monuments, historical sites, etcetera) can be gleaned from Government Reports, Documents, and proceedings.

WSU Libraries are a Federal Depository Library which means that many of these reports are housed in Ablah Library. You can search the WSU Libraries' Online Catalog for documentation regarding "National Parks," [you can filter results by "Government documents" on the right-hand side of the search results screen] - but you can also find MUCH MORE in the holdings of the library (including videos, books, and other resources) by following Call Numbers, Subject Headings, etcetera, in your quest to explore our National Parks and related conservational systems.

Begin here - and explore using "Subject Headings" links, "Call Numbers," and filtering by media type or dates to find many resources related to your research. You can search for specific National Parks you might be interested in by placing the name of the National Park in quotation marks - this will tell the system you want specific and precise words together. There are 1000s of resources, so you can also simply explore until you find what interests you, and go from there.
