Search Strategy Builder
The Search Strategy Builder is a tool designed to teach you how to create a search string using Boolean logic. While it is not a database and is not designed to input a search, you should be able to cut and paste the results into most databases’ search boxes.

Can't Find the Full Text of an Article?

Log in with your myWSU ID and password to request a copy of an article or book. Articles are emailed to you and requets can usually be filled within a couple of days. Books take 3-5 days on average and are sent to Ablah Library for you to pick up. It's free!

Find a factsheet for any city, zip code, county, or state in the United States. Information such as per capita income, population by race, education data, and more. From the U.S. Census data.
Bureau of Justice Statistics
The BJS site contains many statistics relating to federal prisons, courts, crimes, law enforcement, and victims. You can search for your topic or browse an A-Z list of topics.
Bureau of Labor Statistics
You'll find information on inflation, unemployment, workplace productivity, and more. The "Databases & Tables" section allows access to a number of additional indexes and statistics.
Center for Disease Control & Prevention
The CDC's web site includes information on many health-related topics and issues. The site also has a number of multimedia sources which include video, photos, and podcasts.
US Census Data
Freely available US Census data from the US government.
World Health Organization
On the "Databases & Statistics" page, you'll find links to the WHO Global Infobase (for information on chronic diseases), a Global Health Atlas, and Regional Statistics.
