Diversity Statements and Statistics

three students walking into library This guide was created to support the University’s goal to increase the diversity of faculty, staff and students. We aspire for this guide to be an educational resource about the diverse students, staff and faculty at Wichita State.

The University's strategic plan strives in part to:

Faculty and student statistics on this guide come from the Common Data Set, which contains a variety of data about Wichita State University and is also used by many other universities, which provides the same reporting standards for all universities. Staff employment statistics are supplied by WSU Human Resources.

African American Faculty and Staff Association (AAFSA)
AAFSA seeks to achieve a visible commitment to the inclusion and valuing of African American students, faculty, staff and WSU alumni in the community. AFFSA meets bi-monthly about current topics important to those they represent.

Office of Diversity and Inclusion
The office provides dynamic programs, which range from speakers and film showings to award ceremonies, cultural festivities and LGBTQA programming - each representing a small piece of the diversity displayed on the WSU campus.
President's Diversity Council
An advisory and leadership team responsible for developing, overseeing and monitoring university-wide efforts to achieve Wichita State University's commitment to diversity as a core institutional and educational value.
