CI 616: Literature for Adolescents

This guide is for CI 616: Literature for Adolescents.

How to access The ALAN Review Journal

The ALAN Review (TAR) is a peer-reviewed (refereed) journal published three times a year by the Assembly on Literature for Adolescents of the National Council of Teachers of English (ALAN). It is devoted solely to the field of literature for young adults and publishes high quality articles and professional materials that support the learning and development of readers committed to (or wanting to learn more about) young adult literature—its authors, its readers, and its advocates.

Print copies of the latest issues of the ALAN Review (8 issues total, for 2019-2021) are on course reserve for this class at the circulation desk on the first floor of Ablah Library. They have a checkout period of 1 week.

Other Relevant Journals

This is a small selection of peer-reviewed journals that publish on topics related to young adult literature that might be useful to your research. The library has access to most of these journals through multiple databases (see "journal details" for more information). Make sure to look at the coverage dates before selecting a database.
