University Libraries Undergraduate Research Award

The Library Award (ULURA) is a supplement to the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Forum (URCAF). The University Libraries seeks to award undergraduate students for demonstrating research skills that utilize the Libraries' resources, including our collections, services, equipment, and facilities. The ULURA Application should provide evidence that you used library resources and services for your URCAF research or creative project.

How does it work?

  1. Submit your abstract to URCAF
  2. Complete the application for the library award below. (The link to ULURA application will be available on the same dates as URCAF submissions.)
  3. Check the ideas for your ULURA application in evaluation criteria and ULURA scoring rubric.

Up to three awards will be given annually: 

First .......... $250

Second ..... $200

Third ......... $150

How to Apply to ULURA

Am I eligible for the ULURA award?

Yes, if you: 

  • Have submitted an abstract to URCAF
  • Are currently enrolled as a Wichita State University undergraduate student at any class level and in any discipline
  • Agree to submit a short biography to be included in the University Libraries' subsequent publications if selected to receive an award

Note: University Libraries will accept submissions for individual as well as collaborative research projects. Collaborative research projects may include no more than five group members, are subject to the eligibility requirements below, and will have reward monies divided equally among members.

What is on the application? 

  1. A request for information about you and your URCAF research
  2. Space for a 200-300 word description of how you used the University Libraries' collections, services, equipment, and or facilities in your URCAF project
  3. Also, you will be asked to attach a bibliography of works cited as an attachment to the application.
