1. Please use MapViewer Classic and make a map for a theme or topic in which you are interested. Follow the instructions there.
Choose a basemap. Then choose a data layer from the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World.
Possible data layers to use:
ACS Health Insurance Coverage Variables - Boundaries
ACS Race and Hispanic Origin Variables - Boundaries
2022 USA Tapestry Segmentation (useful for Business)
ACS Median Age Variables - Boundaries
2022 USA Population Density
ACS Poverty Status Variables - Boundaries
ACS Travel Time to Work - Boundaries
2. Change the drawing style.
With the relevant data layer selected, click on the third icon to change the drawing style.
We want to use the Counts and Amounts (Color) option, which is probably already being used. Click on Options here.
Experiment with different Themes. If your map data is displayed with the Above and Below theme, choose High to low in the dropdown list. If it is already using the "High to low" theme, choose Above and Below. Note how the map changes when you select these different options.
If you want to change the color scheme, click on the Symbols tool. Then you can select the color scheme you want to use.
If you change the color scheme, click on OK to save your changes.
Be sure to then click Done to save all of your changes.
