The following is a guide to literature and other resources on the impeachment process set forth in the U.S. Constitution. On it you will find references to information about the legal and political theories on which the process rests. You will also find references to information about articles of impeachment that have been brought against U.S. Presidents, and instances where impeachment articles were considered but never voted on by the U.S. House of Representatives. This material is presented in the tabs to the left.
While impeachment is not a process reserved solely for the possible removal of a U.S. President, and it is possible to have impeachment trials brought against other public officials as well, the focus in this guide is on presidential impeachment.
Please note that the Wichita State University Libraries do not endorse any specific political viewpoints in this guide. It is presented for educational purposes only.
