Wichita State University may require international students to demonstrate English Language proficiency by completing either the IELTS or TOEFL tests.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

IELTS is an English Language proficiency test designed for non-native English speakers. There are two versions, one for academic study and another for general training (work and migration). Both have four sections: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The library collection includes study guides for IELTS, although Learning Express Library, linked above, also has study guides for this test. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

TOEFL is another standardized test used by universities and institutions to evaluate English language skills of international students seeking admissions.. This test also has four sections: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. The library does have study guides for TOEFL, but study guides are also available in Learning Express Library, linked above. To find books on this topic, run a search in the library catalog on the phrase "Test of English as a Foreign Language" and then click the search button.
