Workshops in this series will help inventors and entrepreneurs learn how to protect their intellectual property and support their business through research. Students, faculty, and community members are welcome.

National Small Business Week
May 5-11, 2019
For more than 50 years, the President of the United States has issued a
proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the
critical contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. More
than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create
about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year. For more information
about National Small Business Week, visit the Small Business Association website.
Wichita State University Libraries is a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) and serves local entrepreneurs with a variety of resources:

Support local start-ups with 1 Million Cups
1 Million Cups is an organization that provides entrepreneurs with a platform to share their start-up businesses and existing businesses with their local community in an effort to grow and find solutions where there are problems. The 1 Million Cups events take place at the Advanced Learning Library (the central branch of the Wichita Public Library located at 711 W. 2nd St. N.) from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Wednesdays. Attendance is free. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. for networking. Coffee provided by Reverie Coffee Roasters.

Find a MakerSpace
Makerspaces are the latest trend for inventors looking to create a prototype or for a small business looking for a way to craft their goods. They also provide a great opportunity for makers to meet and collaborate on projects.
