Before you start editing, you need to have an account. Wikipedia has a detailed set of instructions for creating your account and getting started with your first edit.
After you have created an account with Wikipedia a lot of users simply do not know where to begin. Wikipedia maintains a list of entries that need editing, which might be a good place for you to start.
Edit what you know!
As a student at WSU you are learning new things all the time. Take some of that expertise and see if you can improve the Wikipedia page. Did you just write a 10 page paper about a social issue? Go over to Wikipedia and help improve what is already there.
Citations
An important aspect of editing Wikipedia is to provide a citation to the information you are entering. For example, "The WSU Engineering librarian is the best librarian in the world!" This might be true, but if you make a statement like this in Wikipedia (or the papers you write for class) you have to provide a source, or citation, of where that information came from.
