E-Textbooks

Welcome to the E-Textbooks Library Guide

The University Libraries provides access to some e-books that are used as textbooks. Students may use these e-books free of charge.

University Libraries does not own the electronic version of all textbooks. Some publishers, such as Cengage and Pearson, will not sell e-books to libraries. Others, such as McGraw-Hill, Routledge, and Sage, charge libraries extremely high prices for e-textbooks. The University Libraries has a limited budget, so it is not possible to purchase copies of all textbooks.

Beginning with the Fall 2023 list, all e-textbooks listed are accessible to unlimited simultaneous users. Some e-textbooks have printing and/or downloading limits. University Libraries has many single user e-books that are also used as textbooks; those textbooks are in the catalog but are not listed on this guide.

To check to see if an electronic version of your textbook is among those purchased by the library, click on tab for the appropriate semester on the left. Then search by title under the first tab at the top. If you locate your textbook, click on the title to access the e-textbook.

If you encounter any problems accessing an e-textbook, please fill out an Electronic Resource Technical Support Form, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.
