Introduction
Confused on what standards are or how to find them in the library?  You've come to the right place!  If after consulting this guide you still need help, feel free to use the contact information to the right to get in touch with the Engineering Librarian.

If you know exactly what standard you're looking for, check below to see if it may be available in the library.  We do have access to IEEE standards (electronically) and ASTM standards (paper).

 If you're looking for a standard on a specific subject, start with the indexes listed below to find a specific standard.  Then, search our catalog using the standard type and number to see if we may have a copy in our collection (example-- ISO 9660).  Keep in mind that besides the IEEE and ASTM standards, we have relatively few standards in our collection.  If you do not find what you're looking for via the online sources below or through the library catalog, request the standard through ILL.

Index and Directory of Industry Standards Available to everyone
Star here with the subject indexes if you're unsure of what specific standard you might need.  This 7 volume set indexes standards from 460 different standard-generating organizations.  Covers both U.S. and International Standards.  Find this on Index Table 3 in the reference section.
