What is Scan on Demand?
Scan on Demand is Wichita State University Libraries’ document delivery service, which provides electronic delivery of items from Ablah Library’s print holdings.
 
Who can use the service?
Digitization services are available to all current WSU students, faculty, and staff. If you are a community user or outside organization, please contact Interlibrary Loan at (316) 978-3167 to set up an account.
 
 
How much does it cost?
Digitization services are available for a very reasonable cost to cover the time and resources needed to produce electronic copies. The cost varies depending on the format and quantity of materials ordered. Please see below for the Scan on Demand Fee Schedule and payment information. In some cases, there may also be an additional cost to cover copyright charges.
 
 
How do I make a request?
Requests are made through your personal ILLiad account.
 
 
What kinds of things will you scan for me?
Book chapters, articles from print journals, and some microforms. For items in Special Collections, please visit this page for more information.
 
 
How fast will my item be delivered?
We typically process your request and email you the digital file within 24 hours.
 
 
How do I make a payment?
After submitting your request, it will be listed in your ILLiad Main Menu. Click on the Transaction Number highlighted in yellow. Inside the Transaction Information page, click the yellow Make Payment button at the top of the request details. This will take you to our WebStore. 
 
 
 
How will I know when my item is available?
You will receive an email notification when your item becomes available. If for some reason we discover an item is not available to be scanned (for example, checked out or in lost status), your request will be forwarded to Interlibrary Loan to be borrowed from another institution. 
 
 
How do I request something NOT owned by WSU Libraries?
Interlibrary loan requests can be submitted through your ILLiad account. Requests filled by other libraries can be delivered as quickly as in one hour, but please allow up to two weeks for delivery depending on the type of material requested.
 
 
Why do I get an error when trying to submit a payment?
The problem may be your browser. Our WebStore works best when using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. 
 
 
I just submitted my payment-why hasn't the status changed?
Please look for a confirmation email that your payment has been submitted. Don't worry, your request will be updated in ILLiad on the next business day.

Please complete one payment per item request. 

 

You will receive separate email confirmations when your item has been delivered and when payment is processed.

 

Payment information can be found in your confirmation email, or by contacting Interlibrary Loan at 316-978-3167. 

You will need the 6 digit transaction number (found in your ILLiad account).
